Mindfulness Monday-How to do Hand Breathing

as you go up yur finger slowly inhale
as you go down your finger slowly exhale
repeat for all 6 fingers how do you feel? if needed repeat until you feel calmer and more relaxed
For the first mindfulness Monday in April we’re going to focus on hand breathing. This is a lovely and simple grounding technique to help slow the breathe and calm yourself and your heartbeat. It can be as long or as short as you like, can be done with your eyes open and softly focused whilst sitting (or at work) or whilst lying down with your eyes closed. However you wish to participate is up to you.

Use light to moderate pressure.
When finished do the reverse by starting with your thumb.
Swap hands.
If you can’t physically trace your hand then close your eyes and visualise a hand and moving up and down each finger.

Stretch out your left hand.

Using the index finger from your right, slowly trace the fingers on your left hand.

As you go up your finger, slowly inhale.

As you go down your finger, slowly exhale.

Repeat for all 5 fingers.

How do you feel?

If needed repeat until you feel calmer and more relaxed.
